Mu-Tron III, the World's 1st Envelope Filter !
An exceptional Auto-Wah, specially adjusted for Guitar and Bass.
Created by Mike Beigel in 1972 , this funky machine quickly became an essential element in many musicians’ rig.
Among its staunch fans are the like of the jazz/fusion guitarist Larry Coryell, the Funkadelic bassist Bootsy Collins for his ' Space Bass', Grateful Dead guitarist Jerry Garcia and of course Stevie Wonder on the track " Higher Ground" .
Musitronics, a legend !
Thierry F. is using a funny-looking prototype of the pedal.
The final version has been refined but the sound is identical.
So, we chose to keep the 2 modes demonstrated in the video, with a single switch on the outside of the box.
Gain (Wah 'opening' threshold, adjust it to the instrument)
Peak ('decrease' shape)
Level (adjust according to the Gain setting, start with high level)
Mod (Frequency filter)
Trim (inside the pedal, sets the 'brightness')
And now for a bit of impro from Jeff, a great guitarist, using different styles and settings.
